What We believe Shapes How We live

At Tabernacle, we want our faith and life together to be centered on Jesus and grounded in Scripture. Here you can learn more about what we believe and why it matters to us.

The Heart of Our Faith

God created us to know him and find our deepest joy in him. Though our sin separates us from God, he came to rescue us through Jesus Christ. Jesus lived the life we could not live, died for our sins, and rose again so that we could be forgiven and brought into God’s family. We receive this gift by trusting in Jesus.
This good news—the Gospel—shapes who we are and how we live. As Gospel People, we’re learning together to trust Jesus, belong to his family, and become more like him. We love because he first loved us, and we live sent into our neighborhoods and the nations to lead others to joy in Jesus.

Our Shared Beliefs

Our beliefs are grounded in God’s Word and reflect our commitment to the historic Christian faith. Tabernacle Baptist Church affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our statement of faith.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's inspired, true, and trustworthy Word. It reveals who God is, teaches us how to live, and serves as the ultimate authority for our faith and lives. 2 Timothy 3:16–17

God

We believe in one eternal God who exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, perfect in holiness, love, and truth. Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. Through His sinless life, sacrificial death, and resurrection, He offers forgiveness and new life to everyone who trusts in Him. John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn it through good works; we are made new through Him. Ephesians 2:8–9

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, guiding us into truth, helping us grow more like Jesus, and empowering us to serve God and others. John 14:26; Galatians 5:22–23

The Church

We believe the church is a family of believers united by faith in Jesus. Together, we worship, grow in community, serve one another, and share God's love with the world. Acts 2:42–47

Baptism & Communion

We believe baptism by immersion is a public declaration of personal faith in Jesus. Communion is a meaningful act of remembrance, celebrating His sacrifice and looking forward to His return. Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

Our Mission

We believe every follower of Jesus is called to love God, love others, and make disciples. We seek to share the hope of the Gospel in our neighborhoods and throughout the nations. Matthew 28:18–20
