Tabernacle is a church with deep roots in Raleigh and a desire to see lives renewed by Jesus. We’re grateful for our story, and we believe God is still writing it.

For generations, Tabernacle has been part of the Raleigh community. Today, we’re seeking to be a church shaped by the good news of Jesus—a people learning to worship God, grow together, and share his love with our neighbors. We honor the people and prayers that came before us while looking ahead with hope. Wherever you are in your own story, we’d love for you to get to know ours.

Why We Are Here

At Tabernacle we love the Gospel. The Gospel is the story of God pursuing sinners at great cost to Himself. Jesus is God who came to live a perfect life in our place, die the death we deserve, and be brought back to life to usher in permanent, joyful eternal life with Him for all who believe. The Gospel isn’t just how to become a Christian, the Gospel is how we grow as Christians. Join us as we become Gospel people together.

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and we want to help one another grow.

Believe

Gospel people trust in Jesus. We begin the Christian life by believing the good news of his life, death, and resurrection, and we continue by depending on him every day. Through God’s Word and prayer, we grow in our knowledge of Jesus, our trust in his promises, and our obedience to his teaching. (Mark 1:14–15; Colossians 2:6–7)

Belong

Gospel people belong to God’s family. In committed relationships within the local church, we know and are known, love and are loved, and speak the truth to one another in love. Together, we bear one another’s burdens, celebrate God’s grace, and encourage one another to follow Jesus faithfully. (Ephesians 4:15–16; Hebrews 10:24–25)

Become

Gospel people are changed by the Gospel. As the Holy Spirit works through God’s Word and God’s people, he transforms our hearts, our character, and our way of life. We increasingly become people who love God and others above all else. (Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

Be Sent

Gospel people are sent on Jesus’ mission. Wherever God places us, we live as his representatives by serving others, sharing the Gospel, and helping people follow Jesus. Together, we make disciples in our neighborhoods and among the nations so that more people may find joy in him. (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8)
